Dezron Douglas, born and raised in Hartford, CT, is a prominent figure in the city's rich music scene. He studied under Dr. Jackie McLean at The Hartt School and has become a leading force in jazz. Over 20 years, Dezron has evolved as a composer and performer, releasing seven albums. His latest, ATALAYA, features his Quartet, focusing on art, beauty, and society. Dezron also leads the trio project 3 PEACE, which explores Free Improvisation. He's collaborated with artists like Ravi Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, and Trey Anastasio. In 2019, he was named a Downbeat Rising Star. Dezron is also an educator at NYU Steinhardt, embracing the motto, "Each One, Teach One."
