Harvey Diamond is one of the most accomplished jazz pianists in the Boston area. Over the years he has performed across the U.S. and in Europe. He has performed at New York's Mezzrow and Kitano, Boston's Regattabar, Ryles, Mandorla Music Series, Acton Jazz Cafรฉ, Concord's Colonial Inn and many more venues. He has been a guest on WGBH Radio on Eric Jackson's Show Eric in the Evening. Harvey has been described as "one of the unsung heroes of the Boston jazz scene since the mid-1960's." He was among Lennie Tristano's last students in the 1970's, and has done concert appearances with NEA Jazz Masters Sheila Jordan and Art Farmer, and also with Charles Neville, Harvie S, Joe Hunt, Cameron Brown, Marcus McLaurine, Billy Mintz, Roger Mancuso and many others. Saxophonist Richard Tabnik studied with the jazz alto saxophonist Lee Konitz from 1970 to 1972. During the years from 1975 through 1979, he lived in Buffalo, N.Y. and played lead alto sax in Frank Foster's Big Band at University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. He has written for and performed in many capacities in Houston, Texas, Atlanta, Georgia, and Providence, Rhode Island. He studied and performed with Connie Crothers from 1980 until her death in 2016. He has performed with the quartet CCQt, featuring Connie Crothers on piano, Roger Mancuso on drums, and Sean Smith on bass.
Bassist Jon Dreyer is one of Harvey Diamond's closest collaborators. He also performs regularly with James Merenda, both as a member of his band TickleJuice and also in more mainstream jazz settings, and has performed with most of the Boston jazz community, including Jason Palmer, Phil Grenadier, Adam Janjigian, Yoko Miwa, Frank Wilkins, Joe Hunt and Steve Langone.
Drummer David Hurst, currently a member of the Indian Hill Music faculty was raised in Decatur, Georgia and moved Boston in 1986 to attend Berklee College of Music. While there he was exposed to Jazz music and gained performance experience with international students and faculty members. His Berklee education lead to many musical collaborations and performances throughout New England. He has worked at top Jazz clubs, festivals, theaters and recording studios. As a free-lance drummer, he has developed a reputation for his versatility and knowledge of Swing and Latin music. He's equally valued in the music community as respected educator. His interest in and experience with New Orleans music lead him to study with the renowned drummer Vernell Fournier of the Ahmad Jamal Trio. Since hurricane Katrina scattered many New Orleans musicians around the country, David has had the opportunity to collaborate with Henri Smith and Charles Neville. David performs regularly in the area with the Henri Smith's New Orleans Friends & Flavours, the Workingman's Band and the New Black Eagle Jazz Band.
