Pianist Harvey Diamond has been described as one of the unsung heroes of the Boston jazz scene. Active since the mid '60s, he was among the last students of Lennie Tristano, a great piano innovator who played with such luminaries as Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker in the 1940's. To the delight of generations of fans and students, he recently released his first CD as a leader.
