Gagné’s music is, in her own words: “a bit straight-ahead jazz, a bit bluesy soul, a bit thoughtful/spiritual stuff, and a little bit of edge for some sauce.” Groove and rhythm are a hallmark of a Gagné set, as she is also a pianist, composer and percussionist trained in West African drumming. A veteran performer with years of experience performing in every kind of setting and style – including classical – Gagne is co-founder of Berklee College of Music’s Performance Wellness Institute where she is a professor on the voice faculty. She has performed for the past 25 years throughout the U.S. and abroad with numerous artists including Philip Glass, George Duke, and Cher, and appears on several soundtracks. As a songwriter, she has released three solo CDs in pop/rock, blues and jazz. With a large following online teaching voice as “TheVocalGenie,” she is currently completing her second book on “belting” techniques for singers....
