For years, Lookie Lookie and our friends and fans have been having heaps of fun with music written by Puerto Rican and Newyorican musicians. Indeed, our band includes Jorge Arce from Puerto Rico and Vicente Lebron, from the Dominican Republic.

As you know, both of these islands have been devastated by recent hurricanes. The members of Lookie Lookie have decided to donate our pay from the next Accurate Records loft dance party to well-vetted charitable funds specifically dedicated to the two islands.

It will be a lighthearted evening for a serious cause. You can count on grooving, uplifting music from our little seven piece band, plentiful food and copious drink, in a warm and inviting venue. You are encouraged to BYO of whatever you like, too. ...

Minumum suggested donation is $20, but above the expenses of providing food and beverages, all money goes to charity, so we strongly encourage you to donate more.

Lookie Lookie plays Latin Bugalú, a style which flourished from 1966-1969, combining mambo with a touch of rock'n'roll and rhythm'n'blues. Major artists include Ricardo Ray, Joe Cuba and Pete Rodriguez. Lookie also ventures into the earliest salsa of Eddie Palmieri and Johnny Pacheco, and our discovery: the wacky and wonderful George Guzman, an artist so obscure he doesn't even have a Wikipedia page.

We have also created original Latin arrangements of songs by giants like Jimi Hendrix and the immortal Bobby Freeman.

The members of Lookie Lookie are veterans of Boston's Latin, jazz and rock scenes, united in their love of Bugalú:
