Born in 1992, Marco Bolfelli found a compulsive attraction towards rock music at age 8. He started playing the guitar, and during his teens took private instructions with Tolo Marton and Berklee alumnus Federico Casagrande (among others). Marco attended the Siena Jazz 2012 workshops held by Lionel Loueke and Steve Cardenas, and was awarded for Outstanding Musicianship during Berklee Clinics at Umbria Jazz in 2013. That same year, he recorded the album Streamflow as his first release, which was published by the label Birdland Sounds. This album was reviewed as “a hugely impressive and satisfying affair” by All About Jazz and “a very rewarding listening experience” by Jazz Times.The album consists of 11 original compositions and features ECM recording artist Klaus Gesing on reeds. Since 2015, Marco is attending Berklee College of Music on a scholarship and currently studies Jazz Composition. He is excited and grateful for the chance to expand his musical knowledge and life experience everyday.
