About
This ensemble honors and celebrates the enduring legacy of Prince. Conceived by Julian Scott and Brayden Cranford, with production support from Rachael Morrison, the project was inspired by their experience as members of the Michael Jackson Ensemble. This large-scale production is produced and directed by Professor Tia Fuller, alongside an all-star team of ensemble faculty including Mimi Jones, production director; Lisa Guyer, lead vocals director; Jhony Keys, musical director; and Jerome Kyles, backing vocals director. Additionally, Anthony Burrell joins as choreographer and co-creative director, bringing together an incredible cohort of dancers from Boston Conservatory at Berklee. This ensemble pays tribute to one of the most visionary, groundbreaking, and prolific artists in modern music: Prince Rogers Nelson, the High Priest of Pop. Our aim is not only to perform his work but to channel his spirit of authenticity, fearlessness, and artistic liberation. Prince was an artist who refused to be confined—by expectation, by genre, or by the limitations historically placed on Black musicians in the industry. His music was an act of emancipation, expanding the borders of funk, rock, pop, soul, and spirituality. In that spirit, our ensemble strives to embody his work ethic and commitment to boundless artistic expression. We continue to be dedicated to wisdom, humility, forgiveness, nurturing, and spirituality as we grow together as a collective.Ultimately, this ensemble stands as both a tribute and a continuation of Prince’s legacy—an exploration of what it means to create without limits, to live authentically, and to celebrate liberation through sound....
