About
The Berklee College of Music Bob Marley ensemble delivers the music of the Iconic reggae singer/composer in a faithfully and accurately adhering to the spirit and feeling of the man and the era.
"The Berklee Bob Marley Ensemble directed by Matt Jenson" is a 15 piece ensemble of top students at Berklee College of Music who were accepted into the class entitled "The Music and Life of Bob Marley" taught by assistant professor of piano, Matt Jenson. Not only do these talented students play full arrangements of Marley's music but they also take an in depth study of Marley's life, developing a deeper understanding of the socio-political atmosphere from which Marley found inspiration for his work. Students learn about music as social revolution, about socialism and capitalism, about Rastafarian culture and ultimately are pushed to take seriously what they are saying with their own music. As you can imagine, this is a very popular class at Berklee and the professional level ensemble performances are always SUPERCHARGED! ...
