The Greg Hopkins Jazz Orchestra at Wellesley Middle School Auditorium

Wellesley Neighbors, a non-profit organization that provides its membership a broad spectrum of services, support and entertainment, is proud to announce a signature event, “Celebrating the Big Band Era”, on Saturday April 4, 2020 at the Wellesley Middle School 50 Kingsbury St Wellesley at 7:30 pm. This will be a rousing energetic tribute to the great, big bands of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Woody Herman, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Buddy Rich, The Dorsey Brothers and others whose swinging music ignited America dancing.
Capturing the mood and music of this seminal period of Americana will be The Greg Hopkins Jazz Orchestra, a 17 piece all-star contingent led by its acclaimed conductor, trumpeter and arranger Greg Hopkins along with its heralded singer, Donna McElroy, Berklee College Vocal Professor....
