Only two days till our Latin Bugalu and jazz/funk party at the Accurate Records loft in Somerville.

Beginning the festivities is the Unit: Lello Molinari (electric bass & loops), Phil Neighbors (drums) and Russ Gershon (alto sax, flute & organ) playing tunes by the Meters, Monk, Carla Bley & more.

Then, Lookie Lookie plays Latin Bugalu, a super-fun crossover genre from the groovy 60s. Pioneered by Newyoriquans like Joe Cuba and Richie Ray, Bugalu fits somewhere between Cuban music and New York salsa, features Spanish and English lyrics, and is just the right speed for easy dancing (no double-jointed hips required)....

The event is a party: we will supply some food and drink, but you are heartily encouraged to BYO of anything, and a $10 bill is the suggested donation. The nine musicians and party supply quartermaster will happily accept larger donations if you are so inclined.
