About

This is a special concert in which Boston jazz and improvising musicians are celebrating the life and music of Garrison. I am producing the concert and it will feature too many local musicians to mention here but some highlights include, Charlie Kohlhase, Luther Grey, Jim Hobbs, and myself. The repertoire will cover the entire range of Garrison’s recorded music from his ’straight ahead’ years of “A blue deeper than blue” and ‘Red door number 11” to his group the Variable Density Sound Orchestra (which I am putting back together) to more freer improv groups of his last few years. This, as the kids say, will be epic.
