Jazz Night with Donny Mccaslin at Medfield High School Auditorium

Jazz Night, presented by Needham Bank, features two-time Grammy nominated saxophonist Donny McCaslin, who will perform with the Lincoln-Center bound Medfield High School Jazz Band. He has performed with such jazz greats as Mingus Big Band, Pat Metheny, Tom Herrell and many others.

Also performing at Jazz Night will be the high school Jazz Lab Band and Jazz Choir, and the Blake Middle School Jazz Band.

The Medfield High School Jazz Band has been named one of just 15 finalists from across North America in the Essentially Ellington competition at Lincoln Center in New York City, May 8-10. This is the 4th time the band has gotten into Ellington since 2005, and each time it has earned numerous outstanding soloist awards....

Jazz Night ticket sales support the entire Medfield Music Program. In addition, special Ellington-specific fundraising activities will be taking place at Jazz Night in the auditorium lobby to help reduce the estimated $17,000 cost of the trip to New York.

Other Jazz Night sponsors are Roche Bros., Clay Family Dealerships and Zullo Gallery Center for the Arts. Jazz Night has also been funded by the Medfield Cultural Council, the local entity of the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
