Guitarist Jon Wheatley, formerly of the Artie Shaw orchestra, has performed in countless clubs and theaters over the past 30 years, including appearances at the JVC jazz festival in New York City and many other festivals across the country and in the U.K. He’s performed with Diana Krall, Karrin Allyson, Scott Hamilton, Dave McKenna, Alan Dawson, Benny Waters, Mike Metheny, "Sweets" Edison and Gunther Schuller, to name a few, and recorded on more than thirty releases with Ruby Braff, Dick Johnson, Gordon Brisker, Howard Alden, Bucky Pizzarelli, Kenny Davern, Herb Pomeroy and more. His own recent CD, “Guitar On The Loose in London,” features him with Britain’s best players.
Of Wheatley’s many accolades, Just Jazz Guitar described his style: “Armed with an encyclopedic knowledge of standards and an empathetic musical soul…the music flows from Jon Wheatley’s guitar in chord melody and single note improvisations that convey the history and emotional richness of the American Songbook.”
Danny Harrington has performed with the greats in a variety of genres: Nick Brignola, Bob Brookmeyer, the Temptations, Ben Vereen, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, the Four Tops, Herb Pomeroy, Gary Smulyan, Joe Lovano, and George Garzone, as well as leading his own group for many years. Before joining the faculty at Berklee College in 1978, he toured extensively with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. He is a VanDoren woodwind artist.
