Pre-Thanksgiving Bugalú, with Lookie Lookie
Note set times: 9:30 and 11:15
The Ides of September bugalú was a rollicking good time, packed to the rafters with sensation-seeking sybarites eating, drinking, dancing and being merry.
So we're doing it again the weekend before Thanksgiving. You can dance off a few pounds in advance of putting them back on.
As always, basic admission of $20 gets you in for an eight piece band, beer, wine and food. You are heartily encouraged to BYO and help the cause, and there are opportunities for you to ante up a little more loot if you can afford it....

Bugalú para el siglo XXI (the 21st Century)
Lookie Lookie revives great 1960's songs by Richie Ray, Joe Cuba, George Guzman, Pete Rodriquez, Eddie Palmieri, Jimi Hendrix. Bugalú pollinates mambo with elements of soul and American pop; with strong soloists and deep, complex grooves, Lookie brings an element of jazz exploration to the mix.
Four percussionists, three horns and a bass, with everybody singing, means breaking waves of rhythm and melody.
And remember, you don't need to know the first thing about Latin dancing to shake your booty to Lookie Lookie. But if you are an expert, that will work too. And it ain't no crime just to listen: with eight fine musicians up there, there is plenty for the ears.
