Marco Pignataro Jazzet at Ryles Jazz Club

Tranescendence is a concert of creative musical explorations inspired by John Coltrane's spirit & music. Saxophonist Marco Pignataro brings together a phenomenal group of musicians for this event including renowned saxophonist Allan Chase, flautist Matt Marvuglio, pianist Laszlo Gardony, bassist John Lockwood and drummer Yoron Israel.



Marco Pignataro, from Bologna, Italy, is a multi-talented saxophone player, composer and educator. Pignataro has shared the stage with jazz artists such as Eddie Gomez, Danilo Perez, Jon Faddis, JoAnne Brakeen, Billy Hart, John Patitucci and George Garzone. Pignataro is a member of the Eddie Gomez Quintet as well as leader of the Marco Pignataro Jazzet. He maintains a very active performance and educational schedule of concerts, recordings and clinics internationally and domestically. Pignataro's latest CD release, “Sofia’s Heart”, was produced by Eddie Gomez and features Marco’s compositions and arrangements. An incredible band joins Marco at Ryles. Allan Chase is the chair of the Ear Training Department at Berklee College of Music and Matt Marvuglio is the Dean of performance at the acclaimed music school. Dave Brubeck has complimented Laszlo Gardony as being a ‘great pianist’, John Lockwood has performed alongside George Garzone, Dave Liebman, Joe Henderson and Freddie Hubbard while Eliane Elias, Clark Terry, Tony Bennett and Joe Lovano are just some of the great jazz stars Yoron Israel has joined in the past.



The Marco Pignataro Jazzet is thrilled to bringing this special Coltrane project to Ryles and promises to deliver an unforgettable evening of fantastic music. Ryles functions as a full bar and restaurant.
