The Messenger Collective is a group of musicians dedicated to the legacies of drummers Art Blakey – leader of The Jazz Messengers – and his late protégé Ralph Peterson, who arguably was the most powerful to emerge from the '80s. Any band that celebrates those two dynamic drummers is guaranteed to deliver some no-nonsense jazz.
