Michael's singular approach to the guitar has been cited as an influence by heavyweights such as Bill Frisell, Living Colour's Vernon Reid and Marc Ribot. His career has been one of unusual breadth, including such diverse elements as time with avant-garde giants such as Oliver Lake and Wadada Leo Smith, collaborations with acclaimed producer Nile Rogers and Steely Dan's Walter Becker, involvement in a Mick Jagger solo project in the late '80s, and work in recent years with his Clarity Quartet featuring top Danish players, his Clarity Trio with Rakalam Bob Moses, and his Spirit-Signal-Strata project with Kenwood Dennard....
