Stanley Sagov and the Remembering the Future Jazz Band is a stellar jazz group featuring some of Boston's most highly regarded musicians--Stan Strickland on saxes, flute and vocals, John Lockwood on bass, Bob Gullotti on drums, Mike Peipman on trumpet, flugelhorn and didgeridoo, Robert Douglas Gay on alto sax and Wannetta Jackson on vocals. The band is led by jazz keyboardist and composer Dr. Stanley Sagov.

Stanley Sagov is a dazzling jazz pianist and composer from Capetown South Africa who is skilled on a number of musical instruments and who is also skilled with surgical instruments, as he simultaneously has a full time career as a medical doctor. He constantly amazes his colleagues in both music and in medicine with his ability to lead such an intense dual life both as a physician and as a musician. Stanley says "We are idealistic, we're not in it for the money, but show us the money anyway since we do need to eat and not everyone in the band is also a doctor!"

"How do you afford to lead a jazz band? Get a medical degree, or marry the millionaire wife," he continues. "The purpose of any enterprise worth its salt is to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable," he says and that is exactly what the Remembering the Future Jazz Band intends to do.
