Jazz innovator Steve Turre, composer, arranger, trombonist, and conch shell player, has consistently won both the readers and critics polls in JazzTimes, Down Beat, and Jazziz for Best Trombone and for Best Miscellaneous Instrumentalist (shells). Mr. Turre grew up in the San Francisco Bay area where he absorbed daily doses of mariachi, blues and jazz. Johnson, Herbie Hancock, LesteRs subsidiary label, Antilles. Mr. Turre has been honored with a grant from the NEA for performance and the Outstanding Musician Award at the Jazz Yatra in IndiaAll GA sections (Main Floor GA & Miles Davis Mezzanine) will be seated by host and are first come, first served (other than where a reserved sign is posted to table).
