In 2001 Donald Harrison gave the Curtis Brothers their start, touring in Germany, Spain and around the U.S. After graduating from college they started their work with drummer Ralph Peterson in various bands and configurations. Soon after moving to NYC, the Curtis Brothers began recording and working in trumpeter Brian Lynchs Jazz and Latin Jazz bands. In 2011, the Curtis Bothers released Completion of Proof, their first record with this band which was reviewed favorably in Jazz Times, Downbeat, Lucid Culture, New York Jazz Record and the New York Times. Seven years later, the band is making its Boston debut at Scullers, spinning a fresh take on its familiar Modern Hard-Bop sound with all-new music.Jazz music is in a constant growth pattern of new ideas, and new techniques, that require new energy and passion.
