Renowned saxophonist and Boston native Ricky Ford joins the Makanda Project for a special program, premiering a series of compositions he has written based on poems by Langston Hughes. Lengendary poet Askia Toure will be reading the poems as part of the musical arrangement. The concert is a continuation of the Makanda Project's popular, long-running series in Nubian Square (formerly Dudley Square).
