EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT, FROM 8 P.M. TO 11 P.M., THE VFW POST IN BROOKLINE IS TRANSFORMED INTO AN INTIMATE JAZZ CLUB.
Comfortable seating, $3 beers (as well as simple cocktails), food and snacks, great acoustics, sublime music. And it is free. (Contributions welcome, but not required.)
The house band comprises several virtuoso musicians, and the band leader, the talented alto saxophonist, John Purcell, draws in local, national, and international talent to perform with the band.
