Brisbane jazz singer and songwriter, Natalie de Jager, combines her love of popular music with jazz improvisation, drawing inspiration from artists such as Esperanza Spalding, Joni Mitchell and Alicia Keys to produce her own fusion of jazz, pop, soul and rnb. A natural born storyteller, Natalie has performed at venues and festivals across Australia and beyond including the Brisbane Festival, Brisbane Powerhouse, Brisbane Jazz Club, Birdland Jazz Club (NYC), Anywhere Theatre Festival, Museum of Brisbane and many more.

Whilst studying music at university (QUT and Queensland Conservatorium), Natalie found a passion in songwriting. This was a place she could really express her musicality, cross genres and tap into her story telling ability. In 2014, Natalie joined I Heart Songwriting Club, and this is when her songwriting really developed and progressed. For this concert Natalie delivers a touching tribute to the legacy of female songwriters of jazz. Including Dorothy Fields, Roberta Flack to Amy Winehouse, Natalie pays her respects to these often-unsung heroes of a male dominated industry. Joined by William Martineau on piano and Aidan Arnold on double bass, expect both classic and new arrangements of some truly special songs.
