Zak Scerri Trio:
The Zak Scerri Trio is an Australian jazz group led by guitarist and composer Zak Scerri and features Luke McIntosh on double bass and Aaron Jansz on drums. Through extensive playing they have formed a clear band sound with a focus on interaction, energy and spontaneity. The trio released their debut album ‘A Need for Urgency’ in 2018. Tonight they will be playing a small collection of some of their favourite tunes.

Helen Svoboda, bass:
With a strong connection to her European roots, bassist, vocalist, composer and nature-enthusiast Svoboda relocated from Brisbane to the Netherlands in late 2018 to study a Masters of Music at Conservatorium Maastricht. With a focus on soloistic double bass composition, her solo-project Vegetable-Bass is focused specifically on the intricate combination of the voice and the overtone series of the instrument. She's been described as a musician with "a deep awareness of extra-musical concepts that shape inventive improvisation, and great art". John McAll, piano:
John is among Australia's most experienced and in-demand pianists, arrangers and Musical Directors. He's produced two albums of his own original material, and his work as a founding member of the acclaimed David Chesworth Ensemble saw him touring the United States and Europe. He co-produced and played on the ARIA-nominated Black Sorrows album Endless Sleep, and has MD'd national touring shows including arranging for, and conducting, the Melbourne and Sydney Symphony Orchestras. Flying solo for TJS, John will share some original music, as well as some personal favourites.
