The outstanding pianist, ZOLTÁN PINTÉR is a master of consistently beautiful harmonic improvisation. He began studying the piano at the age of three. He won his first piano competition when he was 5 years old. After that he achieved excellent placings in many classical and jazz competitions. Among others, he won the 1st place of the Bartók Béla Centenary Memorial Competition and was awarded first prize by the professional jury at the "Premio Internazionale Massimo Urbani" competition in Camerino. He is a riveting mainstream player concentrating on traditional standard jazz compositions but he is at home in jazz-rock and Latin music as well. After teaching and playing in various formations he formed his own band, the Zoltán Pintér Trio. Bassist GYÖRGY ORBÁN has been part of his trio for the last four years. His is one of the most original sounds on his difficult instrument in this little country that is choc-a-bloc full of world standard bass players.
