Opus’ MOL-Jazz-Series, focusing on the European jazz scene, showcases this time one of the dominant acts of the Hungarian avant-garde jazz, the Grencsó Open Collective. The group, hosting European or other foreign musicians on their gigs and CDs quite often, carries the musical and spiritual legacy of the pianist-composer György Szabados, the worldwide renowned legendary figure of Hungarian improvised music, who passed 3 years ago. The saxophone player István Grencsó and his long-time buddy, the reliable and rock-solid bass player Róbert Benkő create a harmonic balance with the two outstanding representatives of the youngest Hungarian jazz generation.
