German jazz singer, songwriter, composer, and pianist Julia Hülsmann’s intelligent, brilliant, and incisive brand of poetic, artful vocal and piano jazz has brought her tremendous critical respect in her native country. Her former trio with bassist Marc Muellbauer and drummer Heinrich Köbberling was extended in 2013, featuring British trumpeter Tom Arthurs and released their album In Full View on ECM.
For her brand new Kurt Weill project she has joined forces with her compatriot, the singer and new music composer of eclectic tastes and prodigious gifts, Grammy nominated Theo Bleckmann whose voice is described by reviewers of different countries as being “from another planet”, as “magical, futuristic”, “limitless”, “transcendent” or just “brilliant”....
