The Vienna-based musician (who first studied in Basel under Wolfgang Muthspiel) earned his first laurels in various groups and ensembles as a sideman. The fact that this young musician, born in 1984, truly understands his craft has been known by connoisseurs of the local jazz scene for a long time now. As guitarist and co-founder of of the Austrian band “The Flow”, Tyrol-born Andi Tausch gained honor nationwide since 2007 already. At Home, his first album as a leader was released in 2013 and it shows that Andi is able to do an excellent job as leader of an ensemble, too. As might be expected of him, his interpretation of jazz is very open, complex, free, and playful. He is a guitar player of note who set the goal for himself to reinterpret a wide field of music from traditional concepts into something “other”, and in this process he has become one of the key players in the younger generation of European jazz musicians....
