Szandra Szőke is representing the youngest generation of singers, while her group features experienced musicians of the Hungarian jazz scene. The quintet defines their intimate and delicate music as a sort of literature injected to jazz. Their songs in English are composed by Szandra herself, and are arranged by pianist Gábor Cseke. The importance of their songs’ texts equals with their music, their stories are reflected in the melodies. Their “day-dreaming, secretive and peeping” music invites us for a pleasant journey and meditation at the same time. Their new piece Memory Palace was votes as third at the 7th Jazzy Song Contest, while Gábor Cseke won the special prize of Best Soloist on behalf of his playing in the song....
