Pink Freud founded in 1998 by bassist Wojtek Mazolewski consists of outstanding instrumentalists and soloists. This quartet has become the hottest musical export commodity of Polish culture. The band has contributed to changes in the generation of Polish jazz scene and opened publishing market on the strength of independent music. The formation redefined jazz composition for the benefit of a modern and demanding audience. Their music goes far beyond the canons of traditional forms of improvisation. Using sometimes even classical instruments enriched with electronics, it merges different styles from punk and rock, through drum'n bass, jungle and dub to experimental electronic music. Fully aware of crossing these boundaries and in conjunction with collective improvisation, Pink Freud create an incredibly energetic musical environment, full of subtle melodies for a sensitive and intelligent audience....

Pink Freud also delivered soundtracks to different silent movies. One of this was to the film Strong Man by Henryk Szaro. The premiere of the film with music by Pink Freud, performed live, took place at The Barbican in London in 2011 and was received enthusiastically. The band has scored many prestigious awards, including Record of the Year 2010 at program 3 of Polish Radio for their album Monster of Jazz; triple win in the prestigious survey JazzTop of Jazz Forum magazine as the best electric band in 2010, 2008 and 2007; Jazz Oscar awarded by the Association Melomani, just to name a few.

Pink Freud played at Sziget Festival 2012 where they were positioned on 2nd place in the Dutch Best Concert Of Festival Chart following The Roots and overtaken stars like Snoop Dogg and Korn. In autumn 2012 they released Monster of Jazz in Japan on This Time Records. 



In 2013 their album Horse & Power was presented through three powerful tours in Poland, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Korea and the Czech Republic.
 Thanks to their concerts in South America the band gained hundreds of new fans. On their tour in the Far-East they they got to move a crowd of ten-thousand at the Jarasum Jazz Festival in Korea, while the Japanese part of the tour resulted in concerts with famous Japanese tenor saxophonist Kadota "JAW" Kousuke as special guest.

Another formation of the bandleader, Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet, was one of the highlights at last year's 2nd Polish Jazz festival at the Opus Jazz Club.
