"Hungarian vocalist Rozina Pátkai has made her bones performing her “new-jazz version” of bossa nova in Europe. Her voice possesses the same European cadence as an Edith Piaf, giving her singing, on some songs, a bit of a sepia patina." (allaboutjazz.com)
The jazz bossa-nova of the Rozina Pátkai Quartet continues its triumphant march not just in Hungary but also worldwide. Recently they won first prize of the Made in NY Jazz Competition in the “Best arrangement” category with their Gershwin cover The Man I Love / El Hombre que Yo Amehave, arranged by Márton Fenyvesi. This year they won already second time a first prize at the IMA (Independent Music Awards), this time the jury's First Prize in the “Best Jazz Vocal Song” category with the above-mentioned piece. On the gala-concert, following the award-eremony, they have shaared the stage with members of the jury like Randy Brecker or Lenny White....
