A prominent representative of the young generation of the Hungarian jazz scene, Junior Prima Award-winning János Egri Jr., already known as a solo jazz pianist, debuted his new trio at the 2023 MÜPA Jazz Showcase, where the band received roaring success and won four special awards.

Since the age of 20, the young artist has been a key figure in the Hungarian jazz community.

He is an exceptionally versatile performer, as he is open not only to modern mainstream jazz but also to popular and underground genres. Over the years, he has participated in pop and avant-garde style projects as well.

The young pianist won the special award of Steve Rubie and the Harmónia Jazzműhely Foundation as a soloist, which led to a sold-out concert with top-tier English musicians at the legendary 606 Club in London.

In 2021, he won the "Young Jazz Musician of the Year" professional award at the competition organized by the Hungarian Jazz Association, being the absolute winner based on the votes of the jury and the audience. Following this, his work was recognized with the Junior Prima Award in the Hungarian music category.

The trio's style is based on modern mainstream jazz, but they also incorporate a number of unique stylistic elements inspired by classical and sophisticated popular music. Their repertoire consists of original compositions, arrangements of classical works, film hits, and reimagined American jazz standards, all reflecting the spirit of contemporary times.
