"On the occasion of the Mediawave Festival in 2011 together with my old collegues we had the chance to revive our former musical collaboration, which dates back to the eighties. None of us were disappointed in the results as we concluded that after the long silence our music sounded more mature and accomplished.

Unfortunately, this creative reunifi cation was clouded by an extremely sad event: the death of our master and instructor, György Szabados on the very night of our performance. Unfortunately, this creative reunifi cation was clouded by an extremely sad event: the death of our master and instructor, György Szabados on the very night of our performance. The name Trio Kontraszt has a multiple background. First of all, I thought of Bartók’s Contrasts (scored for clarinet-violin-piano trio and dedicated to Benny Goodman and József Szigeti), then I recalled the contrasting elements characteristic of our music (we are all versatile musicians and composers) and our music language and heritage, that is completely contrasted to recent tendencies of free music."
