Featured several times on All About Jazz and Reverbnation, Jay Smith has been extremely active lately. Between stints with local Bakersfield bands Mento Buru and Kelulu, he recorded his debut album, Unashamed Portrayal which has received rave reviews from dozens of publications and press outlets. Smith also hosts a weekly radio show on Fresno's 90.7 KFSR.

His current project involves multi-genre violinist Patrick Contreras where Smith and Contreras bring a fusion of ever genre imaginable.
