About

The New South Jazzmen plays music reminiscent of Buddy Bolden, ‘King’ Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, and W.C. Handy. Playing jazz in one of its earliest forms, the Dixieland band combines early brass band marches, French Quadrilles, ragtime, and blues with polyphonic improvisation. The New South Jazzmen is the oldest continuously performing Dixieland band in the Charleston area.
