JazzArts Charlotte presents Grammy-winning jazz drummer Jeff “Tain” Watts, for a FREE jazz workshop, in conjunction with his JAZZ ROOM weekend performances. JazzArts Charlotte welcomes student musicians from the Charlotte area and beyond to learn from an international master drummer, composer, and jazz innovator.
This applied workshop is open to middle schoolers and above, with at least a year on your instrument. All instruments are welcome – you are invited to bring it along.

Jeff initially majored in classical percussion at Pittsburgh's Duquesne University, where he was primarily a timpanist, followed by enrollment at the Berklee School of Music.
