On Tuesday November 19th, from 7 to 9 pm, Portland, Oregon based guitarist John Stowell will perform at Escafe Restaurant, with special guests. Stowell has been recording and performing since the 1970’s, and has over 20 cd’s out as either leader or co-leader. He is a unique jazz guitarist influenced as much by pianists and horn players as he is by guitarists. His original take on harmony, chords and improvisation set him apart. The Charlottesville Jazz Society and Escafe Restaurant present Guitarist John Stowell

On Tuesday November 19th, from 7 to 9 pm, Portland, Oregon based guitarist John Stowell will perform at Escafe Restaurant, with special guests. Stowell has been recording and performing since the 1970’s, and has over 20 cd’s out as either leader or co-leader. For this special Artist/Educator event, Stowell will play some solo guitar pieces, and will also be joined at times by area musicians Michael Elswick (sax), Peter Richardson (guitar) and Drex Weaver (percussion). He will conduct a free master class for students at Western Albemarle High School on Wednesday November 19th at 1:00pm.
