Dr. Ava Logan may be the only veterinarian with degrees from Yale University and University of Pennsylvania who also receives praise for being a classically trained vocalist performing almost every genre including jazz, pop and rhythm and blues. She has been lauded for her numerous jazz vocal performances--performing abroad and throughout the United States as well as being featured at almost every jazz outlet in Chicagoland. She recently returned from a ten day, six concert tour of Russia, including Moscow and Rostov, and Minsk, Belarus. Returning to the USA, her performance with the Mendocino (Northern California) Jazz Orchestra at the Mendocino Music Festival was highly regarded. Ava appeared at the Skokie Theatre previously in her tributes “Ella Fitzgerald and Friends” and “Lena Horne and Friends”. These successful shows are currently being considered for performance in other parts of the country. Her stage appearances, including portrayals of Ella Fitzgerald and Nancy Wilson at the Black Ensemble Theatre, and her debut recording,” So Many Stars“, have also garnered acclaim. Neil Tesser of WFMT-FM calls Ms. Logan “a fresh breath of old-school glamour, bringing sass and swing to the classic singer’s repertoire while retaining the swanky class this material deserves.”
