It's the North Shore's hottest day of cool jazz-- the 9th annual Evanston Jazz Festival, at Evanston Township High School. The all-day event, on Sat. February 11th, is filled with lively performances by student bands from around the Midwest, and culminates with a sizzling 7:30p.m. show--electrifying orchestral jazz from trumpeter Orbert Davis' Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, with
special guest Victor Goines. This acclaimed saxophonist-clarinetist has played with jazz greats Wynton Marsalis, Dizzy Gillespie and a host of others.
