This performance at Katerina’s is a special presentation of music and poetry from Sparrow, Pallatto and Rolland.

Southport Records presents an ongoing series of events at Katerina’s on the first Saturday of every month! Label partners Bradley Parker-Sparrow, piano and Joanie Pallatto, voice will open each evening with their original duets and improvisations. The early evening sets will present a mix of artists from the label roster, featuring jazz, avant garde, classical and new music.
The co-host of this event, Katerina’s, has evolved into a unique listening experience and environment, with fine programming, including jazz, world, and pop forms.
As always, Katerina’s serves great cocktails and fine food! Katerina’s – an eclectic club with its soul in the arts.

Ron Rolland – Voice Over Actor
In a 30 year career, with TV and Radio work as a voice over actor and announcer, Ron Rolland has a list of credits far too long to mention. He was the National Voice for United Air Lines in his freelance career. Rolland was Host of the ‘All Night Show’ in the 70s for WGN, and for many years was the Announcer for Channel 2 "The 10:00 News." He is well known for his role in the 1982 adaptation of "The Great Gatsby" as narrator Nick Carroway. For the last 20 years, Ron Rolland was the Signature Voice of the ABC owned television stations, including ABC-7 Chicago.

Ron Rolland has recorded for two Southport Records CDs, interpreting narration and poetry by Bradley Parker-Sparrow. He can be heard on “The Light – a tone poem” (2004) and “The Desert Rat Suite” (1991). Sparrow, Pallatto and Rolland appeared on ABC7 Veteran Bill Campbell’s Sunday morning television program “Chicagoing” on New Years Day 2005, “A Jazzy New Year.”
