Susan has been featured as a soloist on WTTW's Artbeat Chicago, Chicago Tonight, FOX TV News in the Morning, CBS's TV Morning News Show, and Harry Porterfield of ABC Seven News in Chicago reported that "Susan May is Someone You Should Know".

Besides performing, Susan has also been the recipient of numerous awards for her art and academic achievements. Susan's achievements in an accelerated academic program enabled her to start college on a Presidential Scholarship at age 15. After graduating summa cum laude in May 2010 from Valparaiso University, Susan earned a scholarship at age 19 to the prestigious UAB School of Medicine. She is on track to receive her MD in May of 2014 and plans on pursuing a career in pediatrics, in addition to singing jazz.
