JSQ is proud to announce the release of our newest CD on Origin Classical. “The Pythiad” is a multi-movement piece written for voice, string quartet, soprano saxophone and string bass, performed by composer-saxophonist Jim Gailloreto and jazz vocalist Cheryl Wilson with his group Jazz String Quintet.
Blending classical music and modern jazz, “The Pythiad” interweaves improvisation with skilled post-impressionistic modernist writing. JSQ is honored to also present this album in concert with three arrangements from legendary Chicagoan Cliff Colnot.
This music was inspired by and created for Cheryl Wilson. Her amazing voice and skill will amaze you; her artistry is the perfect vehicle for telling these compelling stories from Greek Mythology....
