Jon Rarick's Nova Continuum & Josh Torrey Nonet at Fulton Street Collective

Jon Rarick is a trumpeter, teacher, and composer working in and around Chicago. He is regularly heard playing with various big bands, pit orchestras, brass bands, and jobbing bands around the city. He heads the Jon Rarick Nonet, a nine-piece group dedicated to playing his arrangements and compositions. Aside from big bands, Rarick’s music has been performed by various guitar ensemble, percussion ensemble. Prominent groups that have played his music are the Eastman Studio Orchestra, the JAM Orchestra, and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
Rarick also enjoys teaching in a variety of settings: as a professor of music theory at Elmhurst College, an instructor with the Sistema Ravinia program, and teaching private lessons.
