The Greenwich is honored to host a performance featuring the esteemed jazz saxophonist Charlie Young and Cincinnati's own Phil DeGreg Trio. Mr. Young, a native of Norfolk, Virginia, is the quintessential artist’s artist, perhaps better known to jazz performers than he is to audiences.

Both a superb section player and spectacular soloist, he has performed with the legendary Duke Ellington Orchestra (which he sometimes conducts) for 15 years, the Count Basie Orchestra and the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra - the national jazz orchestra of the United States (where he also serves as Artistic Director).
He has shared the stage with musical icons from Ella Fitzgerald to Stevie Wonder and Clark Terry, performing in such hallowed venues as London's Royal Albert Hall and New York's Carnegie Hall.
His lifelong dedication to music mirrors his dedication to education. Charlie Young has served as Professor of Saxophone at Howard University for more than 20 years, and now also serves as Coordinator of Instrumental Jazz Studies.
