Drummer Carlo Costa put together the band Minerva with pianist JP Schlegelmilch and bassist Pascal Niggenkemper in New York City in the Fall of 2009. The trio originally met as a sort of a workshop. Slowly a common language started to develop and the band decided to start playing out. From the beginning the band has been concentrating on collective improvisation as well as original compositions. Over the
last few months Minerva has performed at several venues in New York City including Issue Project Room, the Cornelia
Street Café, Miles Café, IBeam, etc.
