Vocalist Doris Long is a Cleveland treasure. Her straight-ahead style honors the American Songbook tradition, as she infuses the lyrics with a passion that rings of sincerity and truth. Long, known as Doris by her fans, has performed with the top musicians on Cleveland’s jazz scene, including renowned pianist “Ace” Carter after he retired from the Count Basie Orchestra. Carter liked to say that he came out of retirement after hearing Doris sing.
