Rooted in American traditional and French jazz Manouche styles, Gaucho has been one of the hardest working jazz groups in San Francisco for the past 10 years playing multiple packed weekly residencies at local favorite bars and eateries. In 2009 they won the "SF Weekly's Best Jazz Band" award. More recently they started playing regularly in New York and Brooklyn with several visits a year on the East Coast.
Their latest album Pearl features Tamar Korn, a New York and Brooklyn-based vocalist whom they met on one of their early NY visits. The album showcases original compositions by leader Dave Ricketts and his songwriting collaborations with Tamar Korn.
