The Hawken Jazz Combo at BOP STOP

Over the past 15 years, the Hawken Jazz Band has evolved from a five person Rock Club to a Jazz Ensemble with over 30 members. This year’s group features four horns and multiple rhythm section players. Under the direction of Chad Komocki, the band plays a variety of jazz-related genres with an emphasis on developing improvisational skills. The BOP STOP gig will offer a little bit of everything—including classic jazz, Latin, Pop, and Funk. Although students still love the backbeat, the band is always striving to become better versed at this true American art form.
