When Victor Gelling graduated from the Cologne University of Applied Sciences in February 2022 with his specially assembled nonet in the LOFT, it was hard to guess that this very recording would be released almost exactly one year later on the Cologne label Klaeng Records.

In keeping with Gelling’s sense of humour, the album is consequently called „Music For Not-So-Feral Hogs“. Pieces about the history of wild pigs in Fukushima after the nuclear disaster packaged as a dystopian children’s fairy tale, embedded in a sound aesthetic between Peter Brötzmann, Jonathan Harvey and Iannis Xenakis....
