The Sextet is based on the instumentation of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers revered 60s groups with a powerful front-line of Trunpet, Sax/Woodwinds, and Trombone.

They'll be playing music from the Messengers, Bobby Hutcherson, Tim Hagans, Tom Harrell and more, including some originals.

The three horn front-line provides that sophisticated ensemble sound and provides a varied jumping off point for these fine soloists.

There's very little jazz music like this being performed in Colorado Springs, so do not miss this event if you're a fan of Classic/Modern horn-based jazz.
